• Hi

My client has been using plugin WooCommerce Xero Integration for years and we have recently added in your plugin for Afterpay.

The main issue we are having since installing your plugin (Afterpay payments are coming through), BUT when they reach Xero (as we are using the Xero integration plugin) , it creates a new job and then allocates that payment to the wrong bank account AND closes the invoice straight away.

We also are using Paypal plugin and when auto exported to Xero it doesn’t close the job and doesn’t auto allocate the payment and close the job.

That’s what we want the Afterpay sales to do also, NOT to close the job in Xero when exported with the Xero plugin.

Therefore the Accountant has to delete the payment in Xero attached to the closed job in Xero and then allocate the payment to the correct account and then close the invoice.

This is very time consuming and we need to find a better way especially with hundreds of sales.

I have spoken to WooCommerce Xero Integration team and they said I need to contact Afterpay plugin people to see HOW your plugin would work for that issue.

I hope you can help and offer a solution.
I hope the 2 plugins can work together somehow.
Is there something in the backend of the Afterpay script where it would auto allocate payment sales AND close a job if exported into Xero ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks
    Kristin

    Hi @kristinubute,

    Thanks for your message.

The team were unable to find a WordPress plugin named WooCommerce Xero Integration. Is it not open source? Has it been actively maintained and compatible with the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce?

The Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce uses the built in WooCommerce methods to create orders and update order information. Happy to provide a detailed explanation to the Xero team to help them to better understand the behaviour of WooCommerce Payment Gateways. To facilitate this please submit a support request including a link to this post using the following web form: https://help.afterpay.com/hc/requests/new?ticket_form_id=193406

    Thank you.

This is the extension being referred to.

    Hi @pete4mask and @kristinubute,

    Thanks for your messages.

The Afterpay plugin follows the Payment Gateway documentation, utilizes WooCommerce’s built-in functions to create orders and updates the statuses according to the payment responses. It has no integration with the Xero plugin, and does not intentionally trigger any of its functionality.

Please understand that the Afterpay team do not have a detailed insight into the Xero plugin or how it works, and the plugin is not open-source. The team are unable to investigate or test without access to the source code. However, the Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce plugin is open-source, and follows WooCommerce’s recommended workflow for Payment Gateways. For further support regarding Xero’s behaviour concerning external gateway orders, please reach out to the Xero plugin support team.

    Thank you.
