Integration with Woocommerce Subscriptions?

  • I spent alot of time mid/late last year researching a more functional and true ‘paid membership/directory system’ UM is awesome at the membership/directory side. At the time, there was nothing in UM for Woocommerce. There was a small group of us needing the same thing and in many discussions.

    But now there is an extension for WC which appears to have some of the needed integration (purchase history, automatic role assignment on purchase, etc.) Next step is recurring/self-managing subscriptions (and the reverse which is deactivating roles upon subscription expiration, etc.)

    So how does UM+WC Extension integrate with WC Subscriptions? My site has to have renewable subscription functionality. (Not just a one-time purchase, like others have suggested or built with gravity forms or other workarounds)

    Has anyone had success in integrating UM+WCExt with WC Subscriptions?

    Hi,

    “So how does UM+WC Extension integrate with WC Subscriptions?” This is not possible at the moment but we do want to offer a solution for paid membership functionality.

    We are just busy at the moment working on improvements to core plugin before we can look at best option for enabling UM to be used with a paid membership plugin.

    Wait, what? I just purchased WooCommerce Subscriptions and read through all the documentation for how to set it up with the intention of using it for our member site.

    What part of it exactly does not work with Ultimate Member? We have our memberships set up as WooCommerce products. We’re coming up on our annual member renewals, so Subscriptions will let us turn those products into renewable subscriptions with emails and links that prompt members to renew.

    So please describe what part of this process does not integrate with Ultimate Member. I’d appreciate the clarification.
