I’ve added this as a payment gateway within the pos plugin mentioned above and it works without having to open up the paypal here url in a separate tab. The problem is the return url once the payment is successful. Is there anyway this can be changed to mark the order as paid within POS? This would give a fully functional bricks and mortar POS system that integrates with paypal here without the any unecessary clicks.

Changing the endpoint within the settings seems to help. So far i’ve got the plugin working with POS like this.

    1. Shop Owner/Cashier opens pos and processes order as usual.
    2. Chooses paypal here as payment in the payment list
    3. Order is created in the back end of woo with a pending payment status
    3. Paypal Here App opens automatically and the cart amount and items are listed in the paypal here app and on the reader.
    4. Payment is processed using the reader (I only have card enabled)
    5. On new sale click in the app the user is returned to a new tab where the pos is reopened.
    6. The order in woo is marked as processing.

It’s not perfect but it does work. The only thing i’m missing now is that it doesn’t print order receipts on completion of the order but that’s small fry!

We really haven’t done any testing directly with 3rd party plugins like WC POS, but it’s interesting to hear that it’s working for you even a little bit. We’ll certainly play with that and see what adjustments we can make to ensure the two play nicely together and everything updates as it should.

We’ve created an issue for this for the 0.2.0 update that we’re working on now.

Thanks Angelleye – that’s great – Craiguk – it looks like reward points do work (I don’t use the yith plugin version but the woocommerce one) Selecting a customer during checkout within POS they are rewarded on payment completion. If we could get the stock updating and receipt printing working then that would be awesome! I know lots of POS users have asked this over the x number of years that the POS plugin has been in existence so they would, i expect, jump at the chance to use this.

    Hi

yea we have not tested our points side yet but im sure it would work if we chose a customer at epos checkout but this pos will be mainly walk in people wit the odd customer.

If Angelleye and the developer off Epos can work together to get it work smoothly and update stock on completed purchase i two do think people would jump back at this POS systyem for woocommerce as it will save using Thirdparty pos systems as it will all be built in.

Angelleye appreciate the feedback and cannot wait for the next version, i know developers hate getting asked this but what are your time frames on updates, just so can let customer know.

@craiguk – you could use an alternative epos system that does integrate with the likes of paypal here etc – we use vend and it’s integration with here is second to none – the problem is that it doesn’t natively sync with your woo website so there’s an overhead to be had in terms of stock control etc. From past experience these things do seem to take a while to sort (I purchased the POS for woo from actuality some years ago and i’m this close to switching from vend to it in my store as it would get rid of lots of admin overhead). The option is still there to manually key in the amount on the here app to take the payment without the full integration using this plugin which is how we use vend and chip and pin.

    Hey @chucklebum0205

I think we are going to stay with Woocommerce POS and just use external Chip and Pin from Worldpay our current payment processor, its kind of the same enter the amount and they pay but no other APP is involved and then on POS we just click the pay button so it marks it as complete so at least it records the sale and knocks stock etc.. automaticly.

We don’t have the time to do alot of admin in the background for sync purposed, it just seems so very strange there their are 2 main POS systems for woocomerce and none of them yet support payments like Paypal Here or IZettle and for how long they have been around.

We’re working with Woo POS guys to get a test bed setup where we can do some research into how to make our plugin work well with theirs. Hoping to have some more info on that soon!

We’ve updated our dev branch to make this work more smoothly. Would any of you like to do some testing on this for us? If so, please reach out to us at https://www.angelleye.com/support. Thanks!
