Integration with ShortPixel Image Optimizer plugin

Some of our ShortPixel Adaptive Images users are also using Product Import Export for WooCommerce and they notice that the metadata which marks the images as optimized disappears after the export/import, leading to these images not being recognized as already optimized and thus optimized again by the plugin.
The specific metadata is stored in wp_postmeta, in the _wp_attachment_metadata key. Is there a way to keep this metadata when exporting/importing?
