Hi there, I was using cf7 with the recaptcha integration (with complianz), but hit the wall of the current unsupported version.

Do you support / integrate with piotnet forms? Or do I really have to resort to wpforms?

    Hi @chanart,

I have not tried this form before, but the article on our website for WP Forms should apply to other forms as well. This depends on the form itself of course and if it allows HTML for the placeholder.

I will have a look as well; regards Aert

    Thanks for the prompt reply!

So if I understand it correctly – on condition that a form allows for a “free” HTML field – any form plugin will allow complianz to block the reCaptcha script until approval?

Could you point to the actual relevant article – I found on your site several of them…

    Thanks!

I tried now with wp forms and the re-captcha seems to load regardless of the cookie setting. (marketing isn’t selected and the reCaptcha badge shows anyway and the form is being sent…)

    Hi @chanart,

You can follow this article: https://complianz.io/how-to-implement-recaptcha-and-consent-for-wp-forms/

    Hi Kim, thanks.

You can see the test wpform I created here: https://rivka.co/contact_test/

I hid the submit button (according to the example), so the form cannot be sent before accepting the recaptcha cookie, but the ReCaptcha scripts load regardless, which makes it problematic from a GDPR point of view.

    Any idea?

    Hi @chanart,

Just to confirm: have you indicated that your website uses Google ReCaptcha under Complianz > Wizard > Consent > Services by enabling Google ReCaptcha under “Select the types of third-party services you use on your site”, and then proceeding to answer the question “Do you want to block reCAPTCHA before consent, and when consent is revoked?” with Yes?

In any case, I wanted to create a test set-up with the form plugin in question, but it appears that you can only enable ReCaptcha in their Pro plugin.

I have sent a message to the Piotnet team requesting a development license, which would allow us to take a look at the implementation ourselves.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi, I now moved to wpforms as this should be the “simplest” way – same problem – the recaptcha scripts load regardless of whether the visitor accepts marketing cookies or not.

With regards to the settings – what you mentioned is all checked. Additionally, under “integrations” > “Services” – google reCaptcha is activated and “placeholder” is checked, and under “Integrations”> “Plugins” WPforms is activated

(I removed the piotnet forms at the moment)

    Hi @chanart,

I think because Contact Form 7 is also still active on your site which also loads ReCaptcha, this might be an issue if you want Complianz to block the WP Forms implementation.

Could you try this while only having WP Forms and its ReCaptcha v3 implementation enabled?

For demonstration purposes I’ve set it up myself with WP Forms, according to the instructions from the article. You can view my example here: https://berman-fun-sepu.instawp.xyz/form/

    Hi Jarno,

I removed the reCaptcha keys from the CF7 integration settings. I deactivated CF7 from the complianz integration settings. The reCaptcha scripts and resources load regardless of the cookie consent situation.

    Hi @chanart,

As you can see that it does behave correctly on the attached example site which only has WP Forms and Complianz enabled, we would need to find the difference with your environment that causes the issue to occur.

It appears to me that the WPForms ReCaptcha implementation is correctly blocked prior to consent on your site as well, but that there’s still some other ReCaptcha implementation on the page, which causes the issue to occur.

Therefore I would recommend the ‘usual’ troubleshooting steps: determine the cause of the issue by disabling plugins/the currently active theme, one-by-one, until the issue no longer occurs. At that point you will have identified the plugin that causes the issue to occur, and you can proceed from there.

    Kind regards, Jarno
