• Hi!
We have a wordpress install at our domain and have been thinking about integrating Facebook comments when we share links from the site. Can we get comments into our blog with both our Facebook profiles or will this fail?
Will the comments show up as if people commented on the page/post shared on Facebook?
A short comment related to the documentation:
I do get that you’ve written it all on the website for the plugin, but I really think you should try to rethink this way. I had some issues finding some of the important instructions regarding the Facebook app etc. perhaps all this is shown, when the plugin is installed and activated, but I just wanted to read up on it before giving it a testdrive. Therefor I would suggest you copy and paste that documentation to the install part of the documentation that is shown in the plugin directory.
    Best regards
    Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

You can comment using your profile and can also choose any page you’re connected to. There’s a tickbox to post to your profile but that’s per user and a feature that sometimes doesn’t work. That’s not the plugin’s doing though, that’s what Facebook decides to include or exclude from people’s newsfeeds.

Re: documentation. I do try to explain as best as I can but 1) Facebook’s process does change frequently, especially on the steps to do the same thing; and b) the documentation is linked to from the plugin page for further reading. It does cater for most.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Alex!

Here’s a quote from the documentation on WordPress when I found you’re plugin, I clicked on Installation:
    Start of quote:
This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

Upload facebook-comments-plugin directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Go to the Facebook Comments settings
Go through the steps and hit update!
    End of quote.
My point was here that I don’t see any information related to what the steps are. It might be here you could make a link to the page on your website fr reference. I suppose the steps are explained when the plugin is installed and activated, but as I said in my last post, I would have been less confused if I just knew where to find the information right away under the installation-instructions. ??
Sorry for any misunderstanding here, I’ll give the plugin a try as soon as possible. It looks like the one I’ve needed for the last year or so!
    Best regards
    Thomas
