    Hi team,

I have the following issues with hCaptcha with Jetpack contact form:

    1. if I enable hCaptcha settings with Jetpack Contact form, the hCaptcha is added after the submit button. Any way to shift it before the submit button?

    2. if I use the [hcaptcha] shortcode in Jetpack contact form, the submission ignore the hCaptcha even I leave it empty. Any other config I need to add when using the shortcode?

    Thanks.

    Hi @jamestanjames,

    Thank you for the report.

    1. It is fixed and will be published in 1.12.0.
    2. We are working on it and will keep you posted.

    Thanks,

    2. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm this. If you do not complete hCaptcha but fill the form, the email is not sent, but the form fields are cleared.

Also, there is no need to insert [hcaptcha] shortcode into the form, especially, after the fix of item 1 above.

If you do not complete hCaptcha but fill the form, the email is not sent, but the form fields are cleared.

It would be better if some kind of error occurred. If someone honestly missed the hcaptcha field, then they will assume that the form was properly submitted.

Understanding the limitations here, would it be possible to add some kind of Error Notice to the page on reload? Anything would be better than nothing.

Also, how about adopting the required field styles from the form that it appears in?

Other required fields will have the word (required) — possibly with specific styles. Shouldn’t the hcaptcha widget have the same styles since it is essentially acting as a required field in the form?
