I purchased your (PRO) version of surplus yesterday thinking I could easily integrate it with my custom slider (in this case – https://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380) and just found out that the custom slider option just means adding manually the slide content.

What I am wanting to achieve is to disable any sliders, and instead utilize the premium wordpress slider plugin which I bought to integrate it with your (PRO) theme.

Can you guys help me out, which theme files do I modify? or can you add the option of adding the short code of my slider revolution instead? as I am going to setup a custom slider for all pages and possibly also for posts.

Its been a long time I’ve worked with wordpress but, If i add a new option/taxonomy in the individual posts and pages with the value of my slider revolution slide, can your theme pick this up and display it instead?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Furthermore, I need a quick way of adding new custom sections in the front page, your PRO version only allows to use the predefined sections (About, Event, Videos, Blog, Instagram) and even when adding more widgets, they are not displayed inside the section boxes, but rather full with.

Ideally I would like to be able to create a post with the content, and then add a new section and assign the post to it, why is this so hard? I do not feel this is a PRO version at all.

The instagram section only allows 12 pics to be loaded and even then, they do not open in lightbox.

The events section is pretty useless also, it only allows static content to be entered, and even then only 3 events.

What I’ve done is modified the about.php page to fetch the full content of the chosen about us page, and therefore allowing me to create all the different sections withing a single page using elementor, however, this is more of a hack, ideally I would like to be able to add a new option to the theme which allows me to add new custom sections, and assign pages to them. As for the Instagram image lightbox, I installed a lightbox plugin which took care of loading it in a modal.

    Hello @n1bar,

Thank you for posting your queries.

The main motto of WordPress themes is to provide general features that most of the WordPress user use. However, your feature request to add a shortcode to the banner section can be achieved by creating a child theme. We are glad that you have found a solution to the Instagram section. Your other queries can be customized through a child theme too.

    Hi Surplus,

    What I really require is:

    1) Custom section – assign any page/post content
    – allow section ordering up/down

    2) Slider integration – allow users to use custom sliders (front page, page, post)

I believe at least #1 should be an improvement to be integrated into your theme by default and users should not have to pay for it.
