    Hi,
I’m trying to utilize a Product catalog previously set up in Ultimate Product Catalog and sync it with Woocommerce. Current product categories live at https://melsmunchies.com/products/.
Do I need to recreate all of the Categories, Sub-Categories, Products under Woocommerce Products? When I point the Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Shop page to https://melsmunchies.com/products/, it is giving me an archive of blog posts! When I leave that same setting blank, I see the original Products page, but when I click into a Category (i.e.) Cakes, all of the Ultimate Catalogue Products that are now synced in Woocommerce Products have disappeared on the live page.
Can someone tell me what’s going on and how to control it? Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi tomacsh,

I’m not too sure what’s going on on the WooCommerce side of things on your site. Our plugin doesn’t change or have any effect on your WooCommerce shop page, so, whatever you have set for that setting you mentioned should make no difference for our catalog.

The way our plugin is meant to be used with WooCommerce is you now use our catalog for your product browsing and WooCommerce only for the checkout functionality. That’s why your shop page settings don’t mean anything for our plugin.

With that in mind, where and how are you inserting the product-catalog shortcode on your site? You need to insert it on a page to actually display the catalog. One thing to look out for is that you don’t give that page the same URL as a WooCommerce archive page. You mentioned that your shop page has a URL of “products”. So, you wouldn’t want to create a catalog page with the same URL.

Thanks for your help; I thought that the Shop and Catalogue page were essentially the same thing, so I had put the catalog short code there ?? I re-installed the WooCommerce “Shop” page and it’s functioning as I want it to.
Just to clarify, I should only do my Product set-up and editing in Ultimate Catalog and not WooCommerce catalog, correct? I had made some edits in WooCommerce and they are not syncing.

The sync should work both ways. There are some WooCommerce elements, such as variations, that don’t have a corresponding element in our plugin, so those things won’t sync over. That being said, it would be easiest to make all your edits directly in our plugin, as you mentioned. Then you don’t have to worry which elements will sync.
