    Hi. I’m new to WordPress.

I want to install a wp multi site to my existing site(existing site is not wordpress). I would like each blog on the site to be shown as examplesite/blog_name.
But if I install wpmu in a subdirectory say, Blogs It will look like examplesite/Blogs/blog_name.

So I have to install WPMU in the root. But I’m afraid if that will affect the existing site.
I’ve been trying to find a solution for the last 2 weeks.
I dont want to remove the existing site from the root. At the same time I want each blog of the multisite to be in the first level of sub-directory and not the second level).
    Looking forward to your suggestions.

  • Hi,

It can be possible if the current site doesn’t use index.php and the file names don’t conflict between the 2 installations.

    Thanks Pranav.

Yes I know it can be done if there is no conflict between the files. But there is already an existing index.php file.

What is your suggestion to get examplesite/blog_name..

I somehow have to get this done but not able to find out how.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks
