• I’ve got a website that is using a premium WP theme and WooCommerce as the backend. The site is running well and I love how well WooCommerce handles everything. There is one element that the site its currently lacking and that’s the user interaction element.

Currently, the theme allows users to post “reviews” on products. I don’t like the way these are currently handled and I’d like to substitute Disqus’ Commenting system for the standard WooCommerce ‘Review’ option. How can I accomplish this switchout?

    Thanks!

  • If you use shortcodes, like I am, you should be able to do this the normal way. What I do is I shortcode everything and then I have a redirect plug in so that the actual product page links back to the “blog” post product page, that way if someone clicks on the item from their cart they’re sent to the blog post (not the product page). If that makes sense…

    Thanks for the reply Kimberwyn,

What you mentioned does make sense in a theoretical way but I’d love to see an example of it actually in-use. I’ve never actually made a shortcode myself. Can any theme allow that?

    Thanks!

Any additional thoughts on this process and how I can implement Disqus comments on my products pages?
