• I’m creating a theme. I can see wordpress is adding a margin to my theme for the admin bar, however the space is just blank and never shows the admin bar. Is there something I need to do to include the admin bar in my theme? I’ve searched the codex but can’t find anything.

  • LaDainian Tomlinson, Kerley out vs. Bills

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson has been in the NFL for 11 seasons, but he experienced a first last Thursday. Tomlinson, who has a sprained knee, did not practice again on Friday, and has now missed practice for 12 straight days. He’s listed as questionable on the injury report, and he is sidelined for the second straight game as he recovers from a sprained left knee.

Rookie Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is also inactive Sunday against the Buffalo Bills for the second straight game, also because of a sprained left knee. Both were injured in the New York Jets’ loss to New England two weeks ago . Which made him ?also listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision.

Kerley also hasn’t practiced in 12 days, and was doing agility drills on the side on Friday

C.J. Spiller will take Fred Jackson place after Jackson broken his left leg, and be place on injuried reserve.

Buffalo Bills’ safety George Wilson (neck), tackle Demetrius Bell (shoulder), kicker Rian Lindell (shoulder) and wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt ?(shoulder) are inactive. Wide receivers Stevie Johnson (shoulder) and David Nelson (illness) and newly signed running back Tashard Choice are active.

    Well awesomely spammy reply.

Anyway, I can use the default themes and the admin bar does show. I tried just copying the header code form twentyeleven and putting it into my theme but still no admin bar.

If I remember correctly, the admin bar code is in the footer, not the header.

you need wp_head in the header.php, and wp_footer in the footer.php

Necessary for many plugins, aside from your admin bar issues

Thanks. You are correct that I was not including wp_footer. I didn’t get that far. It looks like wp_head will include the correct css which is why I saw the empty margin. wp_footer outputs the div element that contains the menu.

Is there anything about this in the codex, because I was having a hard time finding info about the admin bar.

Doesn’t seem to be a lot in there about the admin bar. show_admin_bar and a couple other snippets really, that’s about it
