Integrating Spry Menubar 2
-
Hi All,
I’m putting together a blog page for my existing website (not a WP site) and am using the Childishly Simple theme, which is what it says on the tin – really easy to customise. I’ve got everything pretty much sorted, bar a few colour tweaks, but can’t figure out how to integrate/embed my existing Spry vertical menu so the blog page fits seamlessly with the rest of the site.
I’ve already tried the WP Spry widget, which is ok as far as it goes, but which doesn’t support custom CSS styling, so is no use for me.
So far I’ve lifted all the Spry Javascript and CSS calls from an existing page and copied them into the header.php file, put the menu text include into the sidebar-left.php file within the sidebar div where I want the menu to show and copied the style sheets into the style.css file. I think I’ve got the include file in the right place at least, because I copied and pasted another snippet for a Twitter button into the same div, and that works fine.
I’m a real newbie at WP and am not sure how I can reference the page so you folks can see it – it’s not linked from my website and I’ve only accessed it through my WP dashboard up to now. I get there via https://www.unicornstudios.co.uk/wp/index.php – is that correct for anyone to access?
Does anyone have any ideas please on how I can sort out the menu and also how I then ‘attach’ the page to my site? I really don’t want to have to link to WP if it can be helped.
Many thanks for any help
Ann
