Integrating externally hosted wordpress blog with existing website

Hi, I have a company website that is https://www.example.com.

I want to create a WordPress blog, but the IT dept will not allow me to host it on the https://www.example.com server.

I can host the blog with Dreamhost, but I want the blog address to be https://www.example.com/blog.

A reason for having the blog is the SEO benefit it will bring to https://www.example.com, so it’s important I find a solution that is SEO positive.

Can you help?
