• Hi guys,

I have an external site that I’m trying to make a wordpress blog for. We want the look and feel to be the same to the website so I’m trying to basically integrate the current site to a wordpress blog. One of the ways I hope that I can do this is to take the existing header and footer on the current site and basically recreate them on the wordpress blog, so that when the user goes to the blog it feels like the same website. I’ve already picked a theme that I’ve altered a bit to make it look similar but I was curious if it was possible to get the exact header and footer.

I can’t really find any information on this subject that is any more recent than ~8 years ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Since you are altering the theme files, I would start by creating a child theme, so your changes are not lost when there are any updates for the theme.

Your theme should have a header.php and footer.php. What theme are you going to be using? You can experiment by transferring the relevant content from your HTML files to those until you get it looking how you would like. Let me know if you have any specific questions on doing that.
