  • Hi there,

From what I know, integrating bbPress with a Full Site Editing (FSE) WordPress theme requires a slightly different approach than with traditional themes. Here’s a breakdown of the process and key considerations:

FSE themes utilize block-based templates, which can sometimes create conflicts with plugins like bbPress that generate their own content. ?Therefore, you may encounter styling issues, or display errors.

    Key Plugins for Compatibility:

    • “Enable bbPress for Block Themes”:
      • This plugin is designed to bridge the gap between bbPress and FSE themes. ?
      • It helps resolve display issues and ensures bbPress content is rendered correctly within your FSE templates. ?
      • It provides a “bbPress content” template that can be edited inside of the site editor.
      • It also allows for the enabling of the block editor for bbpress post types.
    • “bbp style pack”:
      • This plugin is very useful for styling bbPress to better match your FSE theme’s design.
      • It also contains features that help bbpress work within FSE themes. ?
      • It provides many options for customizing the appearance of your forums.

Template Customization (Within the Site Editor):

    • With FSE, you’ll primarily work within the “Site Editor” (Appearance > Editor) to adjust your templates. ?
    • After installing the compatibility plugins, you may have new template options available, such as a “bbPress content” template.
    • Within the site editor you can customize the look and feel of your bbpress pages. ?
    • If you enable the block editor for bbpress post types, you can also edit those post types in the site editor. ?

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

thank you so much for the full reply.

I had loaded bth of those plug ins and managed to speak to the write of the one plug in (Robin) very helpful but were lacking the crucial information you have put here which is the bbp content on the template – that I will look at now and report back thank you so much ??

I am struggling with the content width within the page – I can find where to set the width but no idea what the width of the header and footer are by default to set content the same width if you havbe aany suggestions I would love to hear them thank you.

Im still working on the bb template inclusion – I can create a page for the furm and place the embed code but as soon as you navigate from that it looses the header and footer with the auto generated content so I did wonder if I need to create a template page and add a block entry for the code BUT that isnt an option? Ill see if I can get some input on the bbforum help where I have managed to track down the writers of both the plugins mentioned ??

I do stiil have the perennial problem of increasing the width of the text or shortcode element inside the block editor – yes I can see the left centre or right alignment and I can see the wide width setting and the content width and wide content width – setting it 100% will set to the width of the screen so I assume I need to know the width of the header in px in order to set a correct workable width – can you help me please with what is the difference between: wide content width and content widh and where can I find the width in px for the header and footer which are the themes standard width

Thankl you for your continued help ??

    Hi,

    I think the width for header/footer is 960px https://vertis.d.pr/i/tEYCiE

    Hope this helps.
