Integrate with other membership plugins

Is there any chance to get media press to integrate with member community plugins other Buddypress? I thought I read somewhere you were waiting to see what would happen with the proposed media element in Buddypress. If you can extend Mediapress to work beyond Buddypress it would have a additional traction. I am particularly interest in UsersWP
