    Hello,

it seems that your plugin is inserting some kind of Google Tag Manager scripts, allthough I am not sure why and how I can configure this?

In my source code I find the following code:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-#######" id="google-tag-manager-js" data-wp-strategy="async"></script><script type="text/javascript" id="google-tag-manager-js-after">

Is this something coming from your plugin?
The main question is. I would like to integrate Google Tag Manager, but want to prevent adding double code. What is the advised way to add GTM without interfering with your plugin?

    Hi @sanderrrrr,

Yes, the script you notice comes from our WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration plugin. It is part of the integration to help track and analyze your website’s traffic pattern and user behavior.

To avoid adding duplicate code, you can use the built-in settings of our plugin to manage your Google Tag Manager integration.

Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Integration and enter your Google Tag Manager ID (the ‘G-#######’ part from your script). If you want to integrate Google Tag with another plugin, disable the “Use Global Site Tag” option.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Hello,

thank you for the quick reply! That is great support. I am specifically talking about Google Tag Manager, not necessarily the integration of the analytics tag.

So if we want to use Googel Tag Manager, we would disable that box and integrate the code directly via Google Tag Manager? Or would this also disable other functionality of the plugin?

    ?? hey @sanderrrrr

What is the advised way to add GTM without interfering with your plugin?

From what I gather you’d like to include more than one tracking ID, while avoiding interference with the WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration functionality already in place. Am I getting this?

Feel free to utilize the hook included in the documentation section, linked here, for doing so.

thank you for the quick reply! That is great support.?

Thank you for the kind words. ??

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.

Apologies, I seem to have missed your earlier reply.

What I would like to do is use Google Tag Manager (due to a variety of reasons); and I am wondering about the compatibility with your plugin. Should I let GTM take care of the Google Analytics code, or should I let it run via the plugin.

I noticed the recent update also does not have the universal code checkbox anymore?

    Hi there!

    Thank you for your answer.

I’m afraid that the Google Tag Manager isn’t developed or supported by us, I’m not familiar with how it works and how it integrates with Google Analytics. Their support team will be much more familiar with it and in the best position to help you out.

I haven’t fully understood your question – Could you please provide us with a screenshot so that we can see what you are describing?

    Hello,

I assume many people would like to use both GTM and your plugin, and a recommendation how to optimize the both would be very helpful.

As you say you are not familiar with GTM, could you briefly elaborate how your code integration works and where you are injecting the GA code?

And for my other remark, please see the comment above from Shameem who shows to disable the Global Site Tag. However, in the newest version that has changed.

    Hey @sanderrrrr,

Good question. I think your ultimate goal here is to use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, correct?

As Feten suggested, we don’t actually develop the GTM extension so the inner workings are a bit beyond the scope of our support.

Are you concerned with duplicating your analytics results?

This option still exists, although removing the GA tag would defeat the purpose of using Google Analytics for WooCommerce: https://d.pr/i/orNQBK

could you briefly elaborate how your code integration works and where you are injecting the GA code?

Our Google Analytics code loads in the header, if this is any help!

    Hello,

    thank you for the follow-up.
It seems strange that you are not familiar with GTM, since it is one of the core applications from Google. It is right up their with Google Analytics, and in many cases will work together with GA. I realize the inner workings and specific details might not be clear, but the integration of GA via GTM seems rather essential.

The issue is not about duplicate results, but about unnecessarily load times and code injection where that might not be necessary or relevant.

Anyway, my question is how your plugin works in coherency with GTM, but it seems that you simply do not offer a solution for that. In that case it might be better to switch from your plugin to a full GTM approach.

Thank you for your assistance so far.

We’d love to hear about your results!

    All the best,
