Integrate existing database to WordPress using LDAP

Hi,
I’ve got a database with employee information. I am creating an employee search page where you can enter name, e-mail, extension or country to search for employees. This should display the list of employees satisfying the criteria. The front end will be build using Word Press.I wanted to know if I can integrate my database information into WordPress using LDAP.IF yes, how do I do it? Should I download any WordPress application that supports this function and then put it on my server so that LDAP can lookup for the information from the databse? Then how do I integrate LDAP with WordPress application/theme?
