Integrate 1and1 AP news feed into wordpress template?

  • I use 1and1 as my webhost. There is a feature to include news feed onto your site and intergrate in yoru design. I am trying to figure out how to integrate into my wordpress template.

    I would like to have a news feed on my side panel which opens the news link into my own template. If anyone can help me with this or knows of another way, I would greatly appreciate any help.

    The directions on 1and1 for news intergration is:

    A default design template showcases the articles. If you would like to change the template, please do the following:

    1. Create an HTML page in your layout with the name template_news.html
    2. Fill in the placeholder <?contentInclude?> on the article page template_news.html where the article should later be displayed.
    This placeholder will be replaced by the article when your website is online.
    3. Save the file template_news.html and the teaser under the same directory as your website.

  • So… have you considered editing your theme’s sidebar.php and adding that snippet of code?

    You can find your WordPress theme files located under wp-content/themes/YourThemesName.

    I have and the problem is that the links open up with template_news.html which is not compatible with wordpress php. Although I can configure the html, I havent figured a way to get it with my template. Maybe there is a way I can do this with frames.

    How do I get the news to open in my wordpress template?

    This may be something you need to ask your host tech support to help with.

    Is there any other ways to integrate news feeds into my site that open on my site with my template?

    opioq, we are having the same problem.. The directions, they give do not seem to work.. I’ll be working on solving this too.. please post if you find a solution.. i don’t think, 1and1 has given the complete implementation..

    I even tested their implementation using a simple webpage, but for some reason the script does not open into your edited template for the article..

    I haven’t figured this out yet and went on to other things. If anyone does get this or something similar, help would be greatly appreciated.
