Intall caused fatal error

    I tried to install SubMe this morning. It sounded like a great plugin, with just the configuration options I needed and no more.

    Unfortunately, when I tried to activate it, I received the following message:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/[webhostusername]/public_html/[mydomain]/wp-content/plugins/subme/subme.php on line 986

    @syzygist, I’m sorry to hear the plugin doesn’t work out of the box for you? Which version of PHP are you using. The plugin requires PHP version 5.3.0 or higher.

    @syzygist, I’m not able to reproduce the problem you are having. I’ve used a default Debian and Ubuntu installation, but the plugin doesn’t produce any errors. Could you provide me with some more details of your installation, such as which OS you are using, WordPress version, installed plugins or any other info that might be relevant?

    Sorry, but it was a month ago, and I have long since moved on to another plugin. I was building several sites at the time, and I don’t remember which one it was, so I can’t tell you which plugins I was using. I seem to recall there were only a couple installed, but I can’t swear to that, or tell you which ones. Linux servers for all of them, whatever version of WordPress was current then, PC. All of the sites were new-ish, under two months old.
