    Hi Effie,

    I’ve been a long time user of this plugin, and only in the last couple of days I used it to help me restore a backup (though really I was moving from a test site to a live site. Same principal though).

    I can’t say what state your backup file is in, but assuming it is perfect and the .sql file contains everything, try following the instructions found here.

    Like I said, I was more moving a database from a staging site to a live site (and therefore created a new database, and then imported into it) but it was a pretty simple process, using the instructions above.
