• Hi, all,

Are there instructions around here anywhere for creating a web page “sandbox” for my blog? I need to make changes to the appearance and would rather do it outside the view of my readers.

    Thanks.

  • I would recommend making a copy of your current theme and uploading it into your themes directory w/ a different name than the original. Use the Theme Test Drive plugin and make your changes to your 2nd copy of your theme. This plugin will let you view the changes to a specified theme as the administrator, and visitors will still see the active theme of your site.

I run a copy of WordPress on my home computer and make changes there. Just install XAMPP and get it running, then install WordPress on that webserver system. Make a few test posts and such, copy your theme to it, develop away.
