Instructions for creating a room?

I’m sorry to hear that. There will be a video released soon with a tutorial for the new version of the plugin.

In version 3, teachers can only create rooms in the administrator dashboard. They go to Rooms and click on Create New. The new room can have a title, description, and options for wait for moderator and record. After creating the rooms, the teacher can go back to All Rooms to view the information for their room, which includes the room token, moderator passcode, and viewer passcode. The new version of the plugin gives each room its own page, or the room can be embedded into another page using a shortcode and room token. Rooms can also be embedded as a widget, with the corresponding room tokens.

If there are multiple rooms, which happens with multiple room tokens in a shortcode or widget, then the dropdown will appear and users are able to select a single room.

“The new version of the plugin gives each room its own page” …Don’t understand. Why would there be a page at all? Just log in through the widget? Seems like this is painfully over complicated. Teachers login to the dashboard and create their rooms and assign passwords before class. Once the recording processes on the server, the classroom is deleted. I must be missing something.

Again, I have two classrooms created, but there isn’t a drop down. This is now the #1 problem to be solved as we can’t hold any classes currently. I can’t wait for further instruction to outline how were supposed to set up class rooms. **ack**

More than one room token must be listed in the widget for a dropdown to appear. If you don’t want to use the rooms page, you can continue to only use the widget to log users into meetings.

Alright, I sorta have it figured out. Once we create a class, we have to copy the token, then go to appearance > widgets > rooms (wherever we placed it) then enter in the token each time we have a class. At least it’s showing now. Then take it out when we are done. (man that’s a bit much as compared to what it was)

Just did a quick run through. We have enabled shared notes. We’re used to seeing the pdf generate next to the presentation. Don’t see either of those on a test session we did. Is there a place to see it?

Glad to hear you figured it out. There is no current way to view the PDFs in the plugin without going to the playback link in recordings. If you would like that to be a feature, please submit a feature request to https://github.com/blindsidenetworks/wordpress-plugin_bigbluebutton/issues.

Where’s the playback link located? I still haven’t seen it? Yes, we had that feature enabled and would get the .pdf in the panel/settings/BBB next to the presentation in the old. I’ll add the request, it’s important to some of us.

The recordings with the playback link are located in the rooms individual pages. They can also be embedded into a page using short code with the format [bigbluebutton type=“recording” token=“token1,token2”].

The recordings are no longer available in the administrator dashboard.
