• in our dashboard, the layout offers
“when this url is requested” redirect to “this new one”

however.. where we enter the “new one” and select “posts” the plugin has a list of existing posts??? well, those are the old ones, so what are we to do?

Let’s say I’ve got a series of posts where the permalink is /checklist nad I want to redirect to /check-list

should I alter the existing (old one) /checklist into /check-list and .. then what? the drop down is still gonna have the old one listed?
    am confused, please elaborate
    thanks

    That’s intended…

The dropdowns give you the option to easily select a destination from existing posts or pages in a URL agnostic way. So as long as those posts/pages exist, they are valid options for a destination.

If you are seeing old posts/pages you have deleted, try clicking the refresh page cache button on the plugin page. To keep load times down we cache your posts/pages, this button forcibly updates that cache.

Also note that this plugin identifies the destination post/page by its ID, so if you change the title or slug of a post/page the redirect is maintained.

You don’t have to use the dropdowns, you can use the Custom URL option if you find that easier.
