Instapaper Issue?

So, correct me if i am wrong BUT when posting links to instapaper account should the links not be viewable on the public profile????
Links are getting posted to the instapaper account BUT not visible on public profile UNLESS you click the heart button! Frankly don’t see the point of that then…
Am I missing something here??
