Installing WP using FileZilla, 404 Page not found error

    Hi,

    I have recently purchased a domain and have uploaded the WordPress files using FileZilla, seems to have worked fine but when I try to access in my browser to continue with the config file I keep getting the error message ‘404 Page not found’. Host provider is HostPapa and their logo comes up on the error message too but not sure what’s going wrong.

    Could anyone help please?

  • Try:

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder from a fresh download of WordPress. by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides

    If you have fantastico in your cpanel use that for installing wordpress otherwise use fireftp addon in firefox for manual update
