I have a site hosted on godaddy (sadly) that is done in HTML. I redid it with wordpress and want to make it default over the HTML site. I installed wordpress to the root directory and moved all the old HTML files out of the root directory. I can visit the pages of my wordpress site by entering in the wordpress permalink for each page (www.example.com/home), but when I go to the actual address of the site (www.example.com), it still defaults to the HTML page (index.html correct?). I tried moving and renaming the index.html file, but it still keeps happening. What more can I do?

  • if the wordpress index.php is the only index file in the root directory, I would assume your browser is caching the original
visit your site and clear the browser cache
Ctrl + F5 on keyboard at same time

Wow I feel stupid now. I didn’t think of that at all. It did the trick. Thank you much.
