    Hi,
I have installed my blog using WordPress 3.0 and all works fine on my local network.
As my internet access provider block port 80, I’m not able to access the blog from outside of my lan. When I try to access the admin.php to change the site reference, I have an error.

I have tried to create a new blog using the site reference with the port number but the install process seems to block on the data base part of the process. (access to mysql work fine when i use phpmyadmin).

My first question is “is it possible to configure WordPress using a different port than 80 ?” and if it’s, can you give me hints how to proceed.

    Thanks in advance

    Richard

  • Hi Samlion,

Did you ever come across a solution? I See it is [resolved], but I’m in the same boat and wanted to know if an install on something other than Port 80 is possible.

    Best,
    Connor

You might want to try making a change to your hosts file in Windows. Probably will need to open the port in Windows Firewall if you haven’t either.
