We stopped using and hosting our site on Wix and have decided to install WordPress. To do this, the nameservers have been changed from pointing to Wix nameservers to GoDaddy nameservers, as they are our hosting service, and the WordPress site will be hosted by GoDaddy.

The nameserver changes took place 36 hours ago and are already reflected on the DNS file. We understand there is a propagation delay and that GoDaddy hosting service may take longer to reflect than other hosting providers based on reviews online.

However, the current situation is that we’ve received an email notification that WordPress has been installed, but the home page of the website is not reflecting the default WordPress template which you see upon successful installation, it shows the GoDaddy holding page. And accessing domain.com/wp-admin/ also does not show the control panel but the GoDaddy holding page.

The WordPress files are present in the WordPress public_html folder and all files are in folders accordingly. We’ve done a clean install of WordPress three times and the issue remains.

Is the reason we cannot access the control panel, or that the site still does not have the WordPress theme set up, due to propagation delay or are we missing something here?

It seems the A record had to be updated manually. We were under the impression that the IP address was correct and pointing to the IP address of the host.
