Installing WordPress on a PC

You can start with XAMPP which gives you a development environment for PHP and MySQL(MariaDB): https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html

Then you can install WordPress on to that or use an installer like Bitnami to simplify things: https://bitnami.com/stack/wordpress/installer

It all comes down to how much you want to get working with WordPress locally vs digging into setting up your development environment.

I would suggest starting with Bitnami to keep you focused on WordPress development.

Yes, Flywheel Local is the best. Personally, I am using it on my Mac and Laragon in Windows PC.
