Installing with Softaculous

  • Hello all!

    I’m about to install wordpress with softaculous.
    This auto-installer let me choose if I want to change or keep the database prefix (wp_).
    I would like to change it for a bit of more security.

    My question is: when an update is available the softaculous software will remember that I changed the prefix or will it install with the default wp making my site to crash?

  • You have to ask softaculous tech support for that as that is a third-party software.

    I recommend that you install your WordPress manually via FTP or cPanel upload since it’s not hard to do at all.

    After you create database, upload WP files, and input DB info and prefix preference in wp-config.php you’re good to go.
