• After getting the message “you do not have sufficient permissions to enter this page” after upgrading to 3.0, and trying for two days as many remedies as possible, I broke down and restored my entire site to a pre upgrade back up. I checked files on FTP and the dates of the files indicated that they were all back to 2.9.2.

    I brought up my site and then tried to go to the admin page.I got the Word Press logo and a message that Word Press had been upgraded and needed to update the data base. Reluctantly, feeling this was bad but not having any other options I clicked okay. I got a message instantly that the data was updated.

    I tried to go to my admin/ dashboard and I got the same old message on a blank page. … not sufficient privileges…” I checked my FTP site again and all of the WP files are back to an earlier date, so I know the 2.9.2 version must be up.

    My blog has been integrated into my web site if that makes a difference with a custom interface.

    I have checked the plugins before and just now checked my data base wp- capabilities file and all is as it should be. I renamed every plug in. No affect.

    Something is blocking the functioning of the WP-Admin page perhaps? Could there some how be a remnant of the 3.0 upgrade stuck somewhere?

    Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you

    JR

    Also can someone tell me what prompts the message ” do not have sufficient permissions…” Where and what I might look for that would cause it. The site is still coming up and you can leave a comment. But I no longer see my “edit” option in the line below each entry on the online blog.

    Thank you. I reset my password with no change in the end result. To do this I used a different computer and managed to get the log in page, which I had not been able to do.
    When I tried to log in after changing pass word I noticed everything got stopped in WP-Admin/profile.php.
    If I go into that file is there something I can look for code wise that could be stopping me logging in as Admin?

    I am looking at the profile.php page. Does anyone notice anything out of place here? Should there be all the spaces and extra lines with *

    <?php
    /**
    * User Profile Administration Panel.
    *
    * @package WordPress
    * @subpackage Administration
    */

    /**
    * This is a profile page.
    *
    * @since unknown
    * @var bool
    */
    define(‘IS_PROFILE_PAGE’, true);

    /** Load User Editing Page */
    require_once(‘user-edit.php’);
    ?>
