    Howdy,

New here and ever newer to WP. So far I’m loving it and regret not using it earlier.

I’m wondering if I can install two instances of WP in one domain. My logic is that I have a main site and a knowledge base for which I purchased a theme.

I was able to install a WP instance to the host the knowledge base theme. I created a subfolder in the cPannel and that seems to be working ok.

I’d like to develop the main site separately from the knowledge base I installed. Is it possible and what would be the best way to do it?

I’m hosting the site on Godaddy.

    Any help would be wonderful.

You can do that pretty easily.

You just need to install the second setup in a folder of the main site, so you’d end up with:

    Main site: domain.com

    Second site: domain.com/foldername

Thank you so much! Goddady had a one click option to install WP. How would I go about installing it to the main domain. Uploading the files?

Yes, you can do that. You’ll need the database connection details to do it manually. If you don’t have those you can find them in the wp-config.php file of your existing site.

I don’t sue Godaddy, but if they have a one-click installer, it might let you install into a sub-folder. It’s worth looking at as that would be the easiest way to do it.

    Thank you!

When using softaculous, theere’s an option to choose the domain and subfolder to use. You can have a look at this tutorial to assist you with this process.
