    Hello there.
I searched for this particular issue with no luck.
Im new to wordpress but I was impressed at the simplicity of installing it on my website and the ease of configuration and use. Having said that I must say I ran into some unexpected problems when I tried installing a second blog. After installation both blogs started returning long strings of errors that I couldnt find a way to fix. I then uninstalled both and everytime i reinstalled the same errors would appear.
so I uninstalled again deleted everything related to wordpress from my servers and reinstalled. Everything is working beautifully.
    My question is this.
I installed the blog as follows:
    mywebsite.com/blog
I still want to install another blog but Im afraid I will run into the same problem if I install into mywebsite.com/blog2 so would installing the second into a subdomain such as blog.mywebsite.com be better?
Any foreseeable problems with doing this?
I did find a lot of information referring to similar things but not anything specific to this particular question.
    Thanks in advance.

  • i hope you are creating and using two different databases for both Blogs. dont use same database for them. it should work whatever way you like, whether in mywebsite.com/blog or blog.mywebsite.com.

upload the wp nstall files in /blog folder and change setting in wp-config file

also can you recall what errors you had? might point at what you might be doing wrong

Hi Laliz, thanks for your help… Yes, there were two different databases created one for each.
I cant remember too much as I decided to do everything from scratch soon after.
I use godaddy so they have a quick install link.
Do you recommend just trying domain.com/blog2 again?

    Found the issue.

warning: require_once(/home/content/34/10741634/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/includes/functions.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/34/10741634/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/members.php on line 96.

    Related to the plugin members.
Must have gotten corrupted when I uploaded it thru ftp.
I reinstalled again under blog and installed that plugin on the first blog only using plugins search inside WordPress instead of ftp.
I don’t need it for the second blog, we will see if it happens again…

    Thank you for your help!!!
