Installing Theme from uploaded zip file: NOT WORKING

  • Hi all,

    Could someone please help me out in the most simple way possible..

    I am trying to upload these two themes(multiple times) :

    https://wpshower.com/themes/imbalance/
    https://wpshower.com/themes/paragrams/

    but I recieve an error saying :
    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the theme…
    Destination folder already exists. /home8/samantq0/public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-content/
    Theme install failed.

    as well as :

    Broken Themes

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
    Name Description
    wp-content Stylesheet is missing.

    I would greatly appreciate if someone could take the time to help me out.

    It sounds like at least one time your upload kind of worked.

    Go in via FTP and delete those folders from public_html/wp-content/themes/wp-content/

    Thanks so much for that info!

    It definitely worked but then when I went to activate the theme the sentence below showed up :

    The active theme is broken. Reverting to the default theme.

    The zip file from https://wpshower.com/themes/imbalance/ is incompatible with the zip uploader for a start, as it contains more than just the theme, it’s got plugins included as well.

    Ideally the zip uploader needs to give you a better error message in the case where it’s received a incompatible archive, which it’s not currently doing. There’s a trac ticket to get that fixed somewhere..

    You’ll need to upload the files from the zip manually via FTP
