    I am thinking about installing Woocommerce Paypal payments but when I tried before it did not connect. So after a couple of updates I am going to try again.

    I did receive an email offering support with the installation, can someone tell me if this is legit ( UK phone number in email is 0207 949 4781) as I was under the impression Woocommerce does not offer telephone support.

    Usually, the connection process should be fairly straightforward. However, there can be some hiccups. For instance, the onboarding wizard might not function properly if the “Go back to WooCommerce” button is clicked too quickly. I would suggest waiting for about 5-10 seconds before closing the popup. If the connection still isn’t successful, giving it another shot often does the trick.

    Regarding phone support, the plugin support team, including WooCommerce, does not offer telephone assistance. Nevertheless, PayPal Payments is WooCommerce’s official PayPal integration, and PayPal has integration engineers who proactively offer setup assistance for the PayPal Payments plugin. If you’re uncertain, it might be worth verifying with PayPal Merchant Support if the phone number you received belongs to them.

    While PayPal can guide you through the setup process as per the documentation, their capacity to provide plugin-specific support is limited. Therefore, for more technical queries, it’s best to reach out directly to the plugin support team.

    Thanks, however at that page you have to choose a topic, and there doesn’t seem to be one that would cover this type of enquiry.

    I am nervous because when I tried to install before, it completely broke my site and I had to restore the site from a backup database, which luckily I had.

    I can’t tell you which selection would be the most suitable, but PayPal offers many ways to contact them. You could also call them or ask in the PayPal community forums. If you could share a copy of the email with us, we can also request confirmation from our partners at PayPal about the legitimacy.

    I’m sorry to hear you encountered a complete site breakdown after previously installing the plugin. Fatal errors are fairly rare but impossible to rule out entirely. However, there are several different ways to deal with such errors and resolve them within just a few minutes without having to restore a backup.
    If you encounter any problems, our plugin support team is here to assist you.

    Before making any major changes to your site such as updating or installing new plugins, we recommend testing these changes in a separate staging environment to not disrupt your live site in case anything goes wrong. Plugins such as WP STAGING allow you to create a site clone with just a few clicks.
    We understand it can be pretty sterssfull when the site goes down and precautions such as utilizing staging sites can often be quite helpful in preventing issues from happening in the first place.

    This doesn’t replace a backup though and these schoud still be regularily scheduled.
