Installing in websitename.com/admin/

  • I’m currently trying to install wordpress 2.7 (the theme i’m using is most stable in that version) and I’m having to install it manually, which I haven’t done before.

    I followed all of the steps and once I go to install wordpress through my web browser it installs onto mywebsite.com/admin/ but I just want to install it to mywebsite.com/

    I’m not sure what the problem is. When I uploaded the wordpress files via FTP they are in the main directory so I’m not sure where the /admin is coming from.

    I’m a nooby when it comes to this stuff so hopefully one of you guys/girls can help.

  • You should think about installing the latest version of WordPress. I understand that you do that for a theme, but there is a chance that you’ll experience problems when installing certain recent plugins. Can’t you find another theme?
