Installing existing child theme

  • I’m setting up a new site and I’d like to use the ‘child of Montezuma’ theme I’ve developed for another site, hosted by the same hosting service. I can’t work out how to install is – any suggestions?

  • When you say “child of Montezuma theme,” are you saying that you followed the instructions here? Or are you referring to changes that were made through the virtual templates and CSS files?

    If you are creating another site using the Montezuma theme, you can export your settings from an existing Montezuma site and import them into the new site. You want to install Montezuma, first, on the new site.

    Then on the existing site, go to Appearance > Montezuma Options > Export Import > Export Settings and copy the contents of the Current Montezuma Settings field.

    Then go back to your new site, Appearance > Montezuma Options > Export Import > Import Settings, paste into the input field, and click the Import Settings button.
