Installing Child Theme On Existing Website

  • Hi, my website is already up and running on Astra parent theme. I want to do some customization for which I am thinking to install child theme and do the changes in functions.php.

    I want to know whether I can install child theme without loosing anything on my live website? If not then what are the other options? Do I need to install fresh WordPress and then install child?

    Yes, you can install the Child theme on your existing website without losing any changes.

    Basically, the Child theme will inherit all the styles of the Parent theme and you will be able to modify the Child theme files for any custom requirement.
