• I am doing something incorrectly when i go to install an add-on domain under my main domain. When I publish I get the URL in the browser displaying the correct name but the actual site has the name of my main domain as the header title.
all the above relates to attempting to do this in my C-Panel using Fantastico

  • Does your hosting provider provide support?

I’m with Hostgator …. the support is awesome. Trouble is they just fix it and you don’t really see how they did it or the explanation is just “over your head”. I waste enough of their time on a fairly regular basis and I just know I’m doing something “stupid” to be getting it wrong. Silly thing is I’ve installed a few of my sites successfully so I can’t figure what I’m doing incorrectly this time .. its frustrating and I want to know myself rather than have Hostgator fix it in 2 seconds. Heaps of videos show how to install domain but I can’t find one for an add-on domain.

do you have a link to the site?

    Hello brazley

thanks for the interest in my problem. The link is ….
https://www.organicgardeningsolutions.info “ …. I also have a couple of other domain names I have sitting in my Add Ons area that I want to get through the Fantastico WordPress process to publish correctly.

If you click on the website link above you will see that the name in the Mozilla Browser is correct but the website and the Tab display my main (root) domain, not the above domain.

I know you can probably go straight to the problem and fix it but I want to know what I’m doing incorrectly as I want to publish that other few domain names I have sitting in Add Ons. (If you can explain to me ….. in non geek English please….. explain like I’m a 6 year old …… I’d appreciate it). Many thanks

    hi savvy

ok, https://www.organicgardeningsolutions.info “is” your main domain. you installed and setup wordpress on that url “organic garden solutions” is just your title which is set in general->settings

when you setup an addon domain in fantastico, make sure you change your title and description at the bottom of the page. fantastico defaults those settings to your main domain.

if im understanding what youre trying to achieve.
