Installing a new site. Domain issue relating to FTP upload

  • Hello

    I am using a plesk control panel to upload my wordpress files – and have done so to the HTTPdocs area along with creating an SQL database. More rudimentary than this though – the domain name the site will eventually sit under is being directed elsewhere, so i can’t use the domain name in the way the wordpress install guide suggests. How do i create the site without the use of the domain?

    Any help gratefully received

  • Hi James,

    Does your host provide you with a temporary URL? If so, you can use that, then update it once your ready to point the domain to your WordPress installation.
