    Hi,

I am trying to install wp on my local machine using MAMP. I am able to install and run a fresh wordpress site.

When I then download my live website files and database and setup the site locally I had a ton of problems. So after a day of headache I decided to try to overwrite (database and files) the working fresh worpress site I that I had originally installed and working.

from there I am able to get to the backend of my wordpress site and see the home page. I can tell from the backend that everything from the live site is their just as it should be, but when I try to navigate to any page other than the home page I get the error
    “Not Found
The requested URL /wordpress/media/news-and-announcements/ was not found on this server.”

I used the plugin “Velvet Blues Update URLs” that I previously installed (to move the site to the server after the original development) to change my url’s. I also manually updated the wp_options (id=1 and id=36) table in my database to the localhost address.

I am not sure what else to do, I even checked the permalink that shows when I “edit” a page, and it is showing the correct URL as far as I can tell.

I am at a loss of what to do next.

Any help is appreciated, let me know if I can/need to provide more information.

I know this seems to be a prevalent issue and have tried to look through past forums to solve my issue but nothing seems to work.

    Thanks

    Issue resolved.

    Here is what I did:
nothing. literally did not touch anything since posting my original question.

I guess it just takes some time to resolve itself…

I don’t understand, but it is working.
