I am new to WordPress. I am trying to install a large plugin (s2member). It won’t install automatically via the search because of its size. I have uploaded the zip file to wp-content/plugins, and, when that seemed to have no effect, I tried uploading to uploads/2010/11

In my dashboard, however, I can’t persuade WP to see the plugin in order to activate it. What can I do?

Sorry if as a newbie here I’m (not) doing something obsvious!

  • Unpack the plugin archive and upload the plugin folder to wp-content/plugins.

Thanks a lot esmi, you’ve got me up and running. The vital phrase ‘unpack the plugin archive’ wasn’t in the Word Press instructions and for some reason didn’t occur to me, so I copied the zip file in there and was baffled.

    Glad to have helped. ??
