• I have been trying to install version 3.6, but it is almost 2 hours now and it hasn’t installed. Any ideas what the issues might be and how I can get back into my website?

  • What you mean by install you upgrading or new install.

I am upgrading, or at least trying but it has been over 2 hours and nothing is happening

looks like you may have connection problem.

Using ftp try and replace all files and folders except wp-content folder and wp-config,php file from fresh download from here.

    and run this url yourdomain.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php

Mine seems to get stuck at “Installing the latest version” and then nothing happens. But if I go to the dashboard in another tab, everything seems to be working fine, and 3.6 is installed. The operative words being “seems to be working”.

Maybe I’m looking for problems where there aren’t any, but it makes me wonder whether the installation has completed properly, despite my blog working normally.

govpatel, thanks for taking the time to answer. I ahve had my host reinstall my WP ste from yesterday.

there is definitely something wrong with WP v3.6. The trouble is WP doesn’t allow you to contact them directly to tell them about it, unless someone knows how to contact them.

WordPress is free software developed by unpaid coders and this free, volunteer-staffed forum is the only support resource available via www.remarpro.com. Whatever this issue is, it is specific to your site – not WordPress 3.6
