Installing 2.8
-
Hi,
This I’m sure is an unusual one:
This is the situation I’ve got myself in to. I installed WordPress 2.7.1 no problem. I got as far as choosing a template and setting up a couple of pages which was again no problem. But, when I tried to import images I couldn’t do it and I notice there’s extensive discussion about that problem but I couldn’t find a definitive answer to the problem.
So I thought it would be a good idea to install the most up to date version, thinking that issue may be resolved in that.
So, as I’d entered no data – The site hadn’t gone live so no posts and not much content had gone in from me. So nothing to lose.
So I deleted all the source files on the server (backed up the database anyway) for 2.7.1. Downloaded 2.8, unzipped it, and published the newer version.
When I got to the install stage, it said WordPress was already installed!!?
But now I can’t get to the dashboard control panel even if I enter the domain name to log in.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Jo
