I have used Duplicator (free version) to package and download my website from my old host and have the two files (zipped one and installer.php one). I have then installed on new host and done all other steps but when I get to the step where you go to the link and put in “yourdomain.tld/installer.php link, replacing yourdomain.tld with your actual domain name” …nothing works.

So effectively I’ve been unable to install files/view site. My host support does not know how to fix it and just told me to try it again (which I have).

Any ideas? I’ve spent hours on this and just can’t understand where I’ve gone wrong.

  • Hey @sirrah,

When you say nothing works, are you getting a blank screen, an error message, or any type of notice?

    Hi Cory,

Thanks for your reply. I was getting a message with a DNS error (I had cleared cache etc).

The issue is actually resolved now – turns out it was an issue from the host end (despite their insistence that it wasn’t). They said they re-installed the files and it now seems to be working). So unfortunately I can’t tell if that is actually what happened or if they did something else.

    Sarah

    Thanks for the update!
