Hello! I have my WordPress website hosted through GoDaddy. I received an email notification from them recently that their systems detected malware on my website and they were going to shut my site down.

Upon contacting their support chat, they informed me that the file triggering their system was “wp-staging>>installer>>dist>>installer.php” and heavily encouraged me to uninstall the WP-STAGING plugin.

I’ve used WP-STAGING for years without any issues, but now it is being detected as malware? Is there some change that was made in the most recent update to the plugin that would cause this to now be the case?

I’m going to uninstall and reinstall the plugin, but if that does not stop the flag on my GoDaddy account, I am going to have to uninstall the WP-STAGING plugin permanently. I just wanted to let the WP-STAGING team know that this is an issue so they can address it if there is some change you have made on your end to have the plugin register as malware now.

    Thanks!
