    Hi Cory,
I don’t know whether it is the good place to post or not.

Well, Duplicator works fine for me and it made me save tons of hours. Tons, really…

There’s only one thing that annoys me. While importing the database, you can either create a new one or erase all data from existing db.

When you rent a shared hosting service, you only have a limited number of database.

I wondered if it was possible to add a feature that allow the user to INSERT the table into an existing database WITHOUT deleting the existing content.

As a third choice, it would be a must.

Thank you very much for your Understanding,

    Axel

  • Hey Ajmariff,

The reason it is like this because if you try to run the installer and the table already exists, then you can start to have a large number of data integrity issues. I think this may be a possibility for future work or a pro version, but right now as a hobby project there are really too many problems that could happen, which would open a whole other can of worms for unsuspecting users. I’ll keep this in mind however if I can come up with a solution that doesn’t generate more possible issues and support tickets…

    Cheers~

    Hi,

Thanks for paying attention to security. I’ve had bad days last time because of some hackers.
For mitigating risk, I always uninstall the plugin on site in production.

WP has tried to avoid that kind of issue with prefix on table names. Maybe you can forbid table insertion if they have the same prefix.
Wouldn’t it be possible easily ?

    Cheers!

Nothing is ever really easy per say ??

I’ll try to look into in a future version, if it doesn’t get overly involved…

    Cheers~
