Installed WordPress over an existing WordPress site

  • Hi there
    I have a site which I have been working on, I thaught was installing WordPress on another sub-domain (not concentrating) and have managed to install over my existing site!

    Is there any way I can go back to the previous themes, plugins etc? When I go via Filezilla I have various backup folders.

  • Did you use the same database name? If not, you should be able to point the site at the original database and it should work again. Check your plugins and theme folders and see if everything is still there. I don’t think WordPress would have deleted them.
